But the gate won't open without faith
for those who wait
for whom community isn't real life
but a concept, a title in a seminar
who have yet to hear God call, or mistake science for a miracle
who shy away from the adventures of true ecstasy
and instead take the long path of living with unease
of being there when life happens upon you
feeling the non-not-miracle of not being dead settle in
veiled in the anxiety you've learned to accept as part
of the arid prophecy for those who wait
