Returning to World Canvas after their solo works as Eero Pulkkinen and Fauter (Mikko Virtala), on’ Oumuamua’ and ‘Various Rings’ respectively, the two artists present their duo oeuvre as New Sincerity. A spiritual follow-up to their 2019 release ‘Fiberglass Pools’ on Opal Tapes, ‘Cultured Meat’ builds on a similar foundation of cut-up compositional practice while bringing together both artists’ distinctive voices.

‘Cultured Meat’s songs flicker and pulse with abrasive spacial capabilities with sounds reminiscent of industrial machines and chemical bursts. As their thematic outline for the release, the two artists were captivated by the dispositions of industrial, genetic food production and lab-grown cell based meat culture. In the vein of its thematically inclined songwriting, ‘Cultured Meat’ presents a world of something familiar of living membranes, and builds on its sound design and compositions as a method of in vitro exploration.

The release was recorded with civic equipment and synths in Oodi Library Helsinki 2019 and reworked and assembled in 2019-2022.
